Please Note: This seminar is for people. Please kindly leave your dog at home.

Clients come to us daily with questions like, “How do I get my dog to walk nicely? How do I get my dog to sit reliably? How do I get my dog to stop barking, jumping, chasing cars, chasing people, etc.”

The secret behind our dogs and their behavior is actually not so secret. This 90-minute seminar is designed to give dog owners and families insight into their dog’s behavior. The presentation will provide effective strategies to train and strengthen the behaviors we want, and information on how to stop unwanted behaviors. There is no magic behind successful animal training but there is science. When we have a clear understanding of the scientific principals that influence behavior and training, we are in the best position possible to problem-solve, eliminate unwanted behaviors, build desired behaviors, improve performance and have the relationship with our dogs that we dream of.

We will include a power point discussion on how animals learn and how we can use this learning theory to our advantage, anthropomorphism, motivation as it relates to training, rules and expectations vs. dominance, and of course, we will leave time for questions and problem-solving specific behaviors that participants have.

In addition to the presentation, we will demonstrate strategies and principals with the assistance of an untrained shelter dog.

Come join us and bring your questions about dog training and behavior.

The seminar will run from 10:00 a.m - 11:30 a.m. in the Community Room at the Monadnock Humane Society. The seminar is free and a $10 donation to the Humane Society is encouraged. Coffee will be provided. Please use the Sign-Up button on this page to RSVP for the event as space is limited.
